Requirements
Three things your dog needs before their first visit — temperament test, vaccines, and spayed or neutered. Here's everything you need to know.
Step 1
What is the temperament test?
Most owners tell us their dog loves everyone — and most of the time, that's true. The assessment is how we make sure, for the safety of every dog in our care and every member of our staff. Here's exactly what to expect.

Schedule
Call to book your time slot
Tests are available Monday through Friday at 8:30 AM or 12:30 PM only. Call (801) 359-DOGS (3647) to get your dog on the schedule.
-
Arrival
You stay 15 minutes. Your dog stays 4+ hours.
When you arrive, fill out a quick application — that takes about 15 minutes. Then we take it from there. Your dog stays at least 4 hours, and the longer they're with us, the better we can see how they settle in.

Results
Cleared or not — we'll be upfront with you
If your dog is a good fit, they're cleared for daycare and boarding. If not, we're very transparent — we'll explain exactly why your dog isn't a fit for this type of environment. If aggressive behavior is demonstrated during the visit, we'll ask you to come pick up your dog immediately for the safety of the other dogs and our staff.
Step 2
Required vaccinations
Your dog must be current on all three of the following vaccines before their first visit. Records must be on file before drop-off.
Rabies
Current rabies vaccination required for all dogs.
Distemper — DHLPP combo
The full DHLPP combination vaccine is required — not just DHPP.
Bordetella
Required for all dogs attending daycare or boarding.
Upload vaccine records directly in PawPartner before your dog's first visit. Questions? Contact us at info@diggitydogresort.com.
Step 3
Spayed or neutered
All dogs are required to be spayed or neutered before starting daycare or boarding at Diggity Dog Resort. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

FAQ
Your new customer questions, answered
-
Is there a drop-off or pick-up cutoff for boarding?
Yes — boarding dogs must be dropped off and picked up at least one hour before we close. That means no later than 6:00 PM on weekdays and 5:00 PM on weekends.
-
What is the cancellation and deposit policy?
A deposit is required for boarding and grooming reservations. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice. For boarding reservations during holiday weeks, the deposit is non-refundable regardless of when you cancel.
-
Does my dog need a temperament test before starting?
Yes. We conduct a temperament assessment for every dog to ensure the safety of all dogs and Kennel Technicians before they join the pack. Tests are scheduled Monday through Friday at 8:30 AM or 12:30 PM. Call (801) 359-DOGS (3647) to schedule.
-
What actually happens during the temperament test?
We bring your dog into the play area while the rest of the pack is up for a meal — so they can sniff and explore both the indoor and outdoor areas on their own before meeting anyone. Then we slowly introduce them to the regulars one or two dogs at a time, so they're not overwhelmed. Throughout the visit we test their recall, how they enter and exit their individual space, and how they interact with the rest of the pack. Any sign of aggression will lead to immediate removal from the group.
-
How long does the temperament test take?
At least 4 hours — we recommend as long as possible to see how your dog settles in. Plan to stay about 15 minutes at drop-off to fill out an application and answer a few questions about your dog's behavior.
-
What happens if my dog shows aggressive behavior during the test?
If any aggressive behavior is demonstrated during the test, we'll ask you to pick up your dog immediately for the safety of the other dogs and our staff. Either way, we're very transparent — we'll explain exactly why your dog isn't a fit for this type of environment.
-
What vaccinations does my dog need?
Rabies, Distemper (DHLPP combo), and Bordetella. All records must be current and on file before your dog's first visit. Note that DHLPP is required — not just DHPP.
-
Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered?
Yes. All dogs must be spayed or neutered before starting daycare or boarding. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis — call us at (801) 359-DOGS (3647) to discuss.
