The Overnight Experience

What does an overnight stay at Diggity Dog look like?

  1. All Day

    Full run of the resort

Dogs move freely between indoor areas and SLC's largest outdoor space — approximately 6,000 square feet of room to run, explore, and rest on their own terms.

  2. Evening

Their own space for the night

Each dog has individual sleeping quarters — climate controlled and quiet. A bed is provided if you don't bring one. Multi-dog families can request their dogs sleep together. Honestly? Most dogs are so tired from a full day of play that they're happy to get some sleep.

  3. Morning

Rested and back to the pack

After a full night's sleep, they're back out doing what they love — until you're ready to pick them up.

Packing for Your Dog

What should I bring for my dog's boarding stay?

Their Regular Food

Bring enough for the full stay. Dogs are fed at 8am, 12pm, and 4pm. Sticking to their regular brand prevents stomach upset from a sudden switch. If you'd prefer not to bring food, premium house food is available for purchase.

A Comfort Item (Optional)

A bed is provided for every dog — but a favorite blanket or toy from home is always welcome. Familiar scents help with settling in.

Any Medications

Include clear dosage instructions. We handle the rest — see pricing for medication fees.

FAQ

Your boarding questions, answered

  • Where do dogs sleep during overnight boarding?

Every boarding dog has their own individual sleeping quarters — climate controlled and quiet. A bed is provided if you don't bring one, though a familiar blanket or toy from home is always welcome. Multi-dog families can request their dogs sleep together. All dogs eat separately regardless. During the day, they join the open-play pack on SLC's largest outdoor space.

  • Do boarding dogs get to play during the day?

Boarding dogs spend the day with our daycare pack — open play on SLC's largest outdoor space and indoor areas. Individual sleeping quarters are for sleeping and meals, not for spending the day in. Your dog gets the full daycare experience as part of every boarding stay.

  • What vaccinations are required for overnight boarding?

Rabies, Distemper (DHLPP combo), and Bordetella. Dogs must be spayed or neutered before starting boarding. Upload vaccination records via PawPartner before your first visit.

  • What if my dog gets anxious or has trouble settling at night?

Honestly, most dogs are so tired from a full day of open play that they're happy to get some sleep. The all-day activity is a big part of what makes boarding here different from a facility where dogs sit in a room all day.

  • Is someone at the facility overnight?

Yes. Our manager lives in an apartment above the facility.

  • Does my dog need to pass a temperament test before boarding?

Yes. All dogs must pass a temperament assessment before starting daycare or boarding. Tests are scheduled Monday–Friday at 8:30 AM or 12:30 PM. You stay about 15 minutes at drop-off to fill out an application — your dog stays at least 4 hours. Call (801) 359-DOGS (3647) to get on the schedule.

  • Best boarding in SLC?

We want you to leave feeling relaxed and comforted — knowing your dog is being cared for in the most thoughtful ways.

"We've never left our dog with anyone or at a boarding facility. The team at Diggity Dog were so kind and understanding. Every time he goes, he comes back happy and exhausted. When we dropped him off for his stay, we had nothing to worry about!"
